Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid twisted arms and cut back-room deals to obtain the 60 votes needed to bring ObamaCare to the floor of the Senate before leaving town for Thanksgiving.
But now that the Senate is back in session, Reid, Barack Obama and other proponents of government-run health care still need 60 votes to pass ObamaCare... 60 votes they still do not have.
That means, we can still win the battle to stop ObamaCare once and for all.
And Harry Reid and Barack Obama know it too. That’s why they are twisting even more arms and cutting even more behind-the-scenes deals at this very moment.
In fact, as you read this urgent letter, Reid and Obama are desperately doing whatever it takes to entice and coerce moderate Democrats, including Senators Ben Nelson, Blanche Lincoln and Mary Landrieu who claim to be on the fence. They are even trying to convince some RINOs (Republicans-In-Name-Only), like Senator Olympia Snowe, to vote for ObamaCare.
That's why we must keep pushing... that's why we must act now and counter this last desperate blitz by proponents of government-run health care.
If we do nothing, Reid and Obama will succeed. If we take action, our chances of victory are very good... it is that simple.
If Reid does not get the 60 votes he so desperately needs, ObamaCare will die a quick and unceremonious death... it will be finished... the battle against government-run health care for the foreseeable future will be won... for you... for your family... and for all of the American people.
Stopping Harry Reid from getting the 60 votes he so desperately needs means... no drastic cuts in Medicare for our nation's senior citizens... no rationing... no doctor's offices that resemble local Department of Motor Vehicle offices... no forcing taxpayers to pay for abortions... and no jail sentences for those who resist ObamaCare.

McDonald v. City of Chicago
As we reported last week, on November 16, the NRA filed its brief with the U.S. Supreme Court as Respondent in Support of Petitioner in McDonald v. City of Chicago. The NRA brief asks the U.S. Supreme Court to hold that the Second Amendment applies to state and local governments through the Fourteenth Amendment.
The McDonald case is one of several that were filed immediately after last year's decision in District of Columbia v. Heller, in which the Court upheld the Second Amendment as an individual right and invalidated Washington, D.C.'s ban on handgun possession, as well as the capital city's ban on keeping loaded, operable firearms for self-defense in the home.
In September, the Supreme Court agreed to consider the McDonald case, on appeal from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. That court incorrectly claimed that prior Supreme Court precedent prevented it from holding in favor of incorporation of the Second Amendment. As we argued at the time, the Seventh Circuit should have followed the lead of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision in Nordyke v. King, which found that Supreme Court precedent does not prevent the Second Amendment from applying to the states through the Fourteenth Amendment's Due Process Clause.

Pence, the chairman of the House Republican Conference, said in the GOP's weekly address that Obama had promised that the $787 billion economic stimulus package would keep unemployment, now at 10.2 percent, below 8 percent. Yet, Pence said, the administration insists the stimulus plan is working.
"In the city and on the farm, as millions of American families struggle to balance their checkbooks this holiday season, they watch in astonishment as Washington spends billions of dollars it doesn't have," he said.
"And what is the White House's answer to our struggles? Another meeting next week. A 'jobs summit,' and most likely another proposal to grow government, raise taxes and place more debt on the shoulders of our children and grandchildren."

•In a recent court filling in Judicial Watch's "Filegate" litigation, the Obama administration made the startling claim that the Privacy Act does not apply to the White House. In other words, the Obama White House believes it can violate your privacy rights without any legal consequences or accountability!
•President Obama boldly proclaimed that "transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency," but his administration is addicted to secrecy, stonewalling virtually all of Judicial Watch's Freedom of Information Act requests.
•The Obama White House has turned the National Endowment of the Arts (and the agency that runs the AmeriCorps program) into propaganda machines, using your tax dollars to persuade "artists" to promote the Obama agenda! According to documents uncovered by Judicial Watch, the idea emerged as a direct result of the Obama campaign and enjoyed White House approval and participation.
•President Obama has installed a record number of "czars" in positions of power. Too many of these individuals are leftist radicals who answer to no one but the president. And too many of the czars are not subject to Senate confirmation (which raises serious constitutional questions).
The list goes on...trillion dollar bailouts, government-run healthcare, banks and car companies, ACORN corruption, attacks on conservative media, illegal alien amnesty, unprecedented and dangerous new rights for terrorists, perks for campaign donors – this is the Obama legacy – and we haven't even gotten through the first year of his presidency!

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn`t buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.
If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
(Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)
